Croatia won a semi-final World Cup after an epic battle and a penalty shot on Russia – 6: 5. Regulatory time has ended at 1: 1, and in the Overtime, both teams scored 2: 2. In the penalty shoot-out, however, the Croatians showed stronger nerves and after 4: 3 they will play in the semifinals.

"Sbornaya" led with the ingenious goal of Denis Cherischev in the 31st minute but in the 40th Andrey Kramaric equalized. In the middle of the second part, the "chess players" hit a radius after Ivan Perissic and eventually ended up with sequels.

In the 101st minute, the Croatians saw the winners after Domagoj Vida's goal. At the 115th Mario Fernandez tied in a similar situation and sent the penalty shootout.

With them, Ivan Rakitic scored the decisive blow, while Fedor Smolov and Mario Fernandez made pbades for the Russians.

The first half was surprisingly open, both teams trying to play nice football. There were a lot of attacks in front of the two gates, the Croats attacking mostly the right wing.

There was a very dangerous centering at Shime Vursalko, but Manjukic and Perisic could not catch the ball well. Jujube and Cherishhev were very active in front of the other door and they both made the first goal.

Djubu managed to tame a long shot and found Cherischev's speed. The midfielder progressed in the center and, thanks to a magnificent rainbow shot in front of the penalty area, Daniel Subashishch was unlucky – 1: 0 for Russia . It was Cherischev's fourth goal in the tournament, equalizing Cristiano Ronaldo and Romulus Lukaku.

The Croatians pushed at the end of the first part and managed to catch up after 40 minutes. In a counter-attack, Mario Manjukic broke the left wing of the penalty area, almost until holding and returning to Andrey Kramaric's goal line. Hoffenheim's striker defeated the Russians defender and scored Igor Akinfeev's goal in 1: 1.

After the break, both teams ran out of time, thinking mostly of do not allow a goal. Still in an hour, Croatia had a golden chance. Ivan Perissic was standing around the penalty spot and was waiting for the moment. The Russians did not manage to clear a bullet well, Perisic found her with a volley of the right leg and she threatened the net. At the last minute, however, he deviated to the side beam, then went to the goal and went out. The goals have never fallen.

There were strong moments among the Croats, in which Modric, Manjukic and even Vrsalko tried to hit. The hosts, however, placed their bodies in the ball path and did not go to Ankinfeev.

In 72 minutes, "Sbornaya" had a great chance. Fernandes centered from the right wing and found Erohin himself at the boundary of the goal field. The midfielder shook his head but failed to hit the door. This made logical suites. A second consecutive game in which both teams will play extra minutes.

Croatian coach Zlatko Dalić had to make a serious decision because three of his players were complaining of pain – Subashic goaltender, defender Vrsalko and striker Manjukic. Finally, he left Vursalko and Vedran Chorluka came in his place, who later became a hero for his team.

Before that, however, the Russians had a great chance. In the 100th minute, Lovren was wrong at the exit of the ball, and Golovin and Smolov were alone against the Chorluka, who pushed the attacker. Smolov fell into the penalty box, but Chief Justice Sandro Ritchie did not play any penalty. A moment later, Croatia was allowed to make a corner.

Modric centered and found the point Domagoji Vida, who headed the ball into the left corner of Igor Akinfeev. At the last moment, Chorluka reached the ball and lied to the hosts' guard, 2: 1, for Croatia.

In the end, Russia tightened with all its might, but Daniel Subashic was in the door. The Croatian guard watched a powerful blow to Kuzyaev, and then a very dangerous centering of Fedor Smolov.

So it's in the 115th minute that Pivarić played with his hand in front of his penalty kick. The free kick was played by Alan Dzagoyev, who put the ball on the head of Mario Fernandez. The naturalized defender defeated Mario Manjukic and led the ball behind Subashic – the Croatian goalkeeper had no chance.

Russia could make a complete turnaround. In the 119th minute, Roman Zobinin fired a shot at 25 meters but Subasic stepped in again and managed to think.
