The modifications in a single volume of the BMW 2er Active Tourer (5 seats) and the Gran Tourer (7 seats) will not receive any heir. The brand will instead try to attract potential buyers of minivans in its SUV lineup, according to an interview with Peter Henrich, vice president of product development, for the British magazine Autocar.
"The Minavan has done a great job in attracting new customers but does not match the essence of the brand," says the director. According to Henrich, BMW will not abandon single cars forever, but at least in the foreseeable future, it will not produce such cars.
BMW produced from 2014 of the 2er Active Tourer (F45) and Gran Tourer (F46). Last year, 68,677 units were sold on both minivans, nearly 17,000 fewer than in 2017 (85,255). The results from January to April 2009 show that demand continues to fall.
