The Chinese conglomerate HNA Airport Group will not sign the concession agreement at Plovdiv airport. It is possible to negotiate with the second candidate – a consortium between PIMK and the Trakia industrial zone, reports Capital.
The news was officially announced by the HNA Airport group by its representative Asen Vbadilev. He said the Chinese company would not be able to end its internal approval for the future contract. The deadline for signing the treaty with the Bulgarian state expired on July 20th. It was extended for a month on a Chinese request by decision of the Council of Ministers in mid – June.
On July 3, during a trip to Provence, the co-president and founder of the Chinese conglomerate Wang Zheng died tragically. This was preceded by significant financial problems and badet relief. The second competitor of the airport was "Consortium Plovdiv Airport" consisting of the economic zone of Trakia and PIMK, which won the intermodal terminal concession near the city of the hills
