Google Pixel 3 rumors: More pictures are leaking, surface tips from the intelligent docking station

  • The last leak of Pixel 3 XL. This looks like the biggest hack of 2018. Yikes.

  • RIP on the software version of this phone. You can still do a lot of specifications, though.

  • A landscape view.

  • The white back has the same experimental logo as the previous leak. There is always a two-tone design here (you can see a horizontal separation between the fingerprint reader and the camera, especially on the left side), but it's hard to distinguish it in this image.

  • Here is the previously leaked black version, where you can better highlight the two-tone design.

A pair of Pixel news hit the internet this weekend. First, we have more leaked images of Google's next flagship Pixel 3 XL, this time in white to go with the previously leaked black version.

The photos, which were taken by the user of the XDA dr.guru forum, align well with previous pixel images, showing a camera with a very high top notch, a lower chin lunette, and what looks like stereo speakers facing the front. Looks like Google continues to ignore all camera trends with two front cameras and a rear camera. The message says that the device has been erased remotely by Google, but the bootloader shows a Snapdragon 845 device codenamed "Crosshatch", with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The previous leak was a 128GB version.

It's hard to bring out these images, but there still seems to be a tow glbad design on the back. The Pixel 2 had a mostly aluminum back with a glbad window, which gave it a two-tone look. The Pixel 3 is supposed to switch to a all-glbad design, but the camera still retains the two-tone look with what appears to be a glossy glbad top and a matte bottom. Remember, this design is just for the bigger "Pixel 3 XL", and there would still be a smaller "Pixel 3" with a more traditional bezel design.

The second bit of new pixel comes from 9to5Google, which has found references to a "Pixel Stand" in the latest version of the Google Android app. A channel in the app says that this "secure dock" will allow the Google Assistant "to use your personal information to make suggestions, answer questions and take action for you when your phone is locked and on your Pixel stand. "

This description almost seems to turn Pixel 3 into something that replicates the recent intelligent Google Assistant display. About a month ago, Amazon announced the "Show Mode" docking station for its Fire tablets; the function turns tablets into a smart display when they are not in use. Google launches a similar product for its phones, which matches the hardware strategy of the Google Assistant: "Do everything Amazon does."

Like last year, we are planning an outing in October for the new Pixel phones.
