If you have a Samsung phone that has been launched in recent years, it is likely that you have integrated the company's Bixby voice badistant.
Bixby debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, and has been included on every high-end version of the company since. There is no reason to think that Samsung would not include it on future devices.
You will also have a hardware button dedicated to starting the voice badistant, which can easily be accidentally touched when you use the phone. – especially on the larger series Note – and this can be quite irritating when you do not want Bixby to appear.
There are three different elements at Bixby. There is the voice service, the button to launch it and the application for the homepage – we have developed a guide to disable all or just a few of the ways Bixby works on your phone so that it does not jump over the applications you use.
To be able to completely disable Bixby, you will need to perform all the tasks below – there is currently no single solution to turn everything off.
How to disable the button Bixby
This button is the biggest complaint of Bixby that we have heard from those who own the biggest phones of Samsung, because it is easy to press the button when you try to do something else like turn down the volume on your phone. [19659002] To turn it off, from your phone's home screen, swipe left for the Bixby menu to appear, or use the Bixby key one last time. The menu will say "hello" with your name on the top left and there is a globe, a pinion and three vertical points on the top right.
Press the tooth symbol and a small menu will appear that says "Bixby Key" with a switch to the right that will allow you to turn off the main button. Disable this function and you will see that the Bixby key does not work anymore when you press it briefly.
Unfortunately, Samsung does not allow you to rearrange it so you can use the button for other phone functions, but we hope that it is something that the company could allow you to do in a next update.
How to disable Bixby voice
If you have disabled the Bixby button to start the application, you will always find a long press on it will open the voice badistant. If you want to turn it off, you will have to return to the Bixby app by swiping left on the home screen of your phone.
The top three icons (globe, cog and dots) will appear again, and this time you want to tap the dots, then tap "Settings". In the second section – it's titled voice – you'll see the top option says 'Bixby Voice'.
Again, you can press this switch and it will disable the function. Remember that this does not mean that you must be without a voice badistant, because you can still use the Google Assistant on your device.
How to disable Bixby Home
Want to get rid of Bixby completely? If you are annoyed by the fact that the service appears to the left of your home screen, there is a way to disable it so you do not see it at all.
First, you will need to find some room in your home screen and long press as if you were about to move some of the apps around. Then swipe left to go to the Bixby screen, and you will see the name Bixby Home appear.
There is a flip-flop next to this, and you just have to press it once to turn it off. You can recover Bixby Home at any time by repeating the steps above and pressing the rocker again.
