It flickers in a style similar to the "Twilight" finish of the P20 Pro, though predictably not quite as good. Still, you pay a lot less for the 3rd Huawei Nova, and still get high-end looks. If you prefer a quieter look, the Huawei Nova 3e is also available in a black finish.
Like many phones from 2018, the 3rd Huawei Nova has a prominent "notch" on its 5.84-inch LCD. The notches are a matter of personal taste, and like most sellers, Huawei provides software to "obscure" the notch if it's not to your liking by coloring them on the sides. You will still see notification icons on the sides, and this is not an absolute invisible fix.
As sold in Australia and tested, the Nova 3rd is a single nano SIM card phone with secondary location in the tray exclusively for microSD expansion, although international models mix this with the usual choice of a secondary SIM card or a microSD card. The right side is where you will find the volume and power buttons of the 3rd Huawei Nova, while the SIM card tray is on the left side.
