If the electric future looks like the Audi e-tron GT concept: we want it – Technology

Audi launched the bomb at the Los Angeles Auto Show, showing the murderous concept of the Audi e-tron GT developed jointly with Porsche. In other words, Audi presented its interpretation of the Taycan Porsche. And we can say without fear that it seems even more impressive.

The four-legged Gran Turismo represents the sporting future of the brand. The mbad production of the e-tron GT is scheduled for the end of 2020 as the third model of e-tron to follow the Audi e-tron crossover and the upcoming Audi e-tron Sportback (2019).

As previously announced, Audi plans include the introduction of 12 full power models by 2025. The first three will be marketed by the end of 2020, which means that the following nine models will appear in five years. c & # 39; is. a new electric vehicle for 6 months (average).

The Audi e-tron GT, as a four-door coupe, will be a direct competitor of the Tesla Model S. Its problem is that we are still talking about the future, but the good thing is that the design of this car is striking.

Its parameters are not negligible, although the Model S has a small lead. The Audi e-tron GT has an even floor architecture in which the lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 90 kWh is integrated (between the two axles). Standalone mileage is expected to exceed 400 km during the WLTP test cycle. Since the comparison with the S model is inevitable, it should be noted that with a battery of 75 kWh, the US model currently offers a mileage of 417 km in the ERA test cycle.

The charge setting of the battery is extremely important because we can see the impact of Porsche. Charging the 800-volt battery may take about 20 minutes (fast charging to 80% of the battery capacity).

Another curious fact lies in Audi's decision to build the bodywork out of several materials: carbon, aluminum and high-strength steel, with the goal of maximizing the weight of the car. Unfortunately, this parameter is not said at the moment.

Audi's decision is to bet on 1 bike per axle to achieve a four-wheel drive with a torque vector and a powerful regenerative braking. The maximum power is 434 kW (590 hp), which must guarantee an acceleration of 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds. From 0 to 200 km / h, the acceleration will last 12 seconds and the maximum speed is 240 km / h.

Other interesting figures are: 4.96 m long, 1.96 m wide, 1.28 m high and a trunk volume of 450 liters plus 100 liters under the hood.
