Hyundai goes triangular with 2019 Elantra facelift

The Hyundai Elantra has been around for two years now. Although relatively young in its production cycle, the Korean automaker gives its entry into the C segment the update of its facelift. The Hyundai facelift for Elantra is large enough to probably convince the pbader-by that it's a complete model change.

Spied in South Korea, the spotted model seems to be destined for the United States because it has fires. Its front fascia is far from the current model, taking clues from the new sedan, as well as the Nexo hydrogen crossover. For starters, lighthouses are no longer smooth and raised units. In its place is a much larger triangular pair with LED daytime lights surrounding its border.

There are more triangular themes around the bumpers, namely with its new set of fog lights and sharper edges. As for the grill, it is similar to the Nexo because it is bigger and wider than before. Due to all these changes, the hood has been remodeled, as well as the front fenders.

As for the side, it seems largely unchanged, except for the new set of wheels that will probably be part of the updated model range. Although no change is found, the back undergoes a similar treatment, radically altered, compared to the front

The chest is totally new, using a color, almost empty-looking design. This means that the license plate holder has been moved to the bumper. The taillights are larger and longer than those of the current model and the Hyundai emblem occupies the center stage, now located between the lights. As mentioned, the plate holder is now in the bumper, and the entire panel seems to be new to match the changes to the rear fascia.

It remains to be seen whether Hyundai has updated the cabin and the engine range. However, rumors have suggested that the car will be fully revealed in a few months in its home market of South Korea. Sold there as Avante, it is possible that the rest of the world will get it by early 2019.
