Looks like Shroud's Charity Showdown grenade was not buggy after all (Update)

Update: So, at first glance, the grenade seems to land between the two players in the clip above, yet does not kill them when it explodes, which makes you think the casters (and me) it was a bug.

However, some people in the comments pointed out that, in fact, it is the angle of the camera that is off, and that the grenade lands at a good distance. It's close enough to do damage, but far enough to avoid killing both players.

You can see the proof below, tweeted by one of the members of the PUBG team. The clip runs from another angle showing the grenade bouncing off the players' heads, while the picture shows where the grenade eventually arrives. Now, you may wonder if it's close enough to warrant finishing an enemy down, but it's certainly not a bug.

It starts to look like @shroud's buggy grenade. a bug at all. Here's the "nade" from another perspective (where he clearly bounced back much further). Try to find out more about it to confirm: https://t.co/M5t78q7MBlJuly 27, 2018

] Original story: "How is he alive?" It was the call of singer Pansy, summing up what was thought by all who watched the clip above.

Shroud fighting in a 1v2 during the PUBG Charity Showdown, had just ridiculed headshot on Vard to send him on his knees on a roof. Vard's teammate, DerOlli, was nearby and rushed to revive his ally. It was an opportunity too beautiful to be missed.

Shroud pulled out a grenade, jumped and released it. He bounced in the air, bounced once, and nested perfectly between his two enemies. And then … well, you saw what happened, leaving the pitchers in a stunned and slightly embarrbaded silence.

I've never encountered this kind of problem in the normal game, but it shows just how important a bug remains for PUBG, which its creator Brendan Greene, aka PlayerUnknown, admitted is not still ready to become a major esport.

The Charity Showdown was part of the PUBG Global Invitational event, which ends this weekend. You can follow the rhythm on Twitch .
