Bulgarian pensioners are preparing for a second national protest through the National Assembly, due to the government's indifference to their problems. The event will take place today, during the discussion of the draft budget for 2019.
One of the organizers of the demonstration, General Vasil Varbanov told Darik that people were outraged by their neglected requests for updated pensions, a rapid increase in the minimum pension and the law for the elderly.
During the summer, the pension organizations' initiative committee started collecting signatures in favor of a petition aimed at increasing pensions, removing the ceiling for all pensions and to develop a law on the elderly. In September, the petition was discussed at a meeting of the Social Committee in Parliament, and subsequently by a meeting of the Budget Committee. However, none of the claims of the pension organizations has been taken into account.
The application document was ignored by legislators, said the general. Vasil Varbanov of the Union of Officers and Sergeants of the Reserve and Reserve. "We express our indignation at the attitude of the deputies, who are mainly elected with the vote of the pensioners, because you know that pensioners are the most conscious voters, they are bruised, but go to the polling station. hope to choose someone who will protect their interests, "he said.
Gen. Varbanov addresses the Bulgarian pensioners: "Let them get out of the lethargy that has covered them, to come out of despair and as citizens with honor and dignity to say their word and show that we will not be able to do it anymore. Future, we will need to determine who we will choose, "he said.
