Russian volleyball players won the first League of Nations after defeating hosts France with 3-0 games (25-22, 25-20, 25-23) in the final.

The Fells were considered favorites of the race that inherited the World Volleyball League, but left no chance to the Russians who won the gold medal in 2013.

In the Lille final, Maxim Mihaylov led his team with impressive performances, finishing with 19 points and being selected for MVP. Dmitriy Musserski added 12, and Egor Kluka scored 10 for the winners who controlled the match.

Pete's star, Erwin Nagpett, was not effective, though he scored 16 points. The first and third games were contested, while in the second Russia, Russia shot with 10-4 and 15-7 and took the game, although the hosts approached 21-20.

In the third set, the French were ahead at 16-13, but were dubbed at 20-20 and Mihaylov's blockade. The hosts shot again with 22-20, but then took just one point and lost a definite point.

The United States won the bronze match against Brazil, also convincing with 3-0 (25-21, 28-26 and 28-26).
