The government has announced the award of 18,799,067 BGN for the construction of "Arena Burgas". The funds will be used to complete the construction of the hall.
"During the implementation of the design and construction activities of the multifunctional facility and after the justifications, additions, detailed calculations, details of the work, the need to carry out construction activities and 39; additional badembly for the realization of the project, which do not represent a change in investment intentions, but their development, according to circumstances that had not been planned before the start of their implementation ", is indicated in the decision of the Council of Ministers.
According to preliminary estimates, the total investment would be BGN 38 million. It was subsequently realized that there was an increase of more than 10 million BGN and that the price of "Arena Burgas" would reach "about 50 million BGN".
Then the Ministry of Youth and Sports explained to Dnevnik that the cost was due to the need to modify the preliminary plans. The water table was very abundant and the proximity of the road necessitated the construction of a more solid retaining wall and a drainage system that altered the whole project. Subsequently, a contract was signed with the municipality of Burgas. The state acquired the land for free and transferred it to the public company "Academica 2011" EAD, which manages the largest sports facilities in the country.
The Sports Ministry said this summer in Dnevnik that the transfer of these 35 million BGN to the arena of Burgas, in the ministerial council, had been announced that, despite the initial plans, the expected value of the construction was about 50 million leva.
In July, Sports Minister Krasen Kralev inspected the repair and said that potential sponsors were very interested in the name. The first, who expressed his wish, was "Kaufland" and then announced by the ministry.
The "Arena Burgas" plan should be the first venue in the country with an athletics track covering all the requirements of the International Federation. The idea was that Bulgaria would make a request for European athletics in a hall in 2019. Due to the delay in construction, the eyes turned to 2021 and later Kralev said that he would like to create a home in 2023. The room will accommodate 7,200 people. , with mobile and fixed stands.
