The factory of electric car manufacturer Tesla in China will be a fact. This is a movement that is much more important to the US concern than the number of vehicles produced in California. The reason is simple: the Chinese market for electric vehicles ranks first.
According to information from knowledgeable sources, the US company wants to produce up to 500,000 cars a year in Shanghai. According to the South China Morning Post, even the relevant agreement with local authorities has already been signed.
Tesla's production lines in China have long speculated. First it was a joint factory with a local company. In April, however, the Chinese government announced that ownership restrictions for foreign electric vehicle manufacturers would be lifted. This clears Tesla's way of creating a single factory. US chief executive, Ilon Musk, went to Shanghai on Tuesday for talks with the authorities, local media reported.
Production in China would make Tesla more competitive. Recently, the company was forced to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the US-Chinese trade dispute. In the future, the US automaker will be able to produce its cars, including the Model 3 and the new model SUV Y, much cheaper for the local market
