Two days ago, the national reference laboratory revealed the first cases of influenza in Sofia. During the last week within the EU, four times more influenza of this strain is proven. This explains Professor Todor Kantardjiev, director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, at Nova TV.

The characteristic of this is that young people are particularly sick. Studies have shown that the complication of influenza affects the lungs. "In recent years, systemic aspergillosis is one of the complications of severe pneumonia badociated with influenza," explained Professor Kantardjiev.

In most of the country, people complain of a cough that lasts for months. However, these are other viruses characteristic of autumn. Winter viruses have not arrived yet. Coughing people should be more careful because they are more susceptible to the flu.

"The symptoms are fever, joint pain, headaches and eye irritation due to light," said Professor Todor Kantardjiev. The flu is growing rapidly – in a matter of hours.

"Unlike all winter viral infections, it usually has a short incubation period: a day, a day and a half and humans are infected for five to seven days," said the director of the National Center for Infectious Diseases and parasitic.
