Samsung has been certified by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for another model of the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 device that is intended for the Chinese market. The Galaxy Note 9 spotted on the FCC website has the model number SM-N9600, which clearly indicates that the device in question is another variant of Samsung's new-generation Galaxy Note phablet. The news comes a few days after the Galaxy Note 9 has been certified by the 3C authority in China, with this Samsung device bearing the model number SM-N9608.
Last month, the international version of the handset with model number SM-N960F made a stop at the FCC, this particular variant being intended to be shipped with Samsung's Exynos 9810 chip. Meanwhile, the SM-N960U is the unlocked Galaxy Note 9 model that is likely to land on store shelves in the United States, with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 silicon. As a standard practice in the industry, the FCC does not publish detailed product information for six months after the issuance of device certificates. The next phablette is scheduled to be launched on August 9 as part of a new "Unpacked" event that will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with the event scheduled to begin at 10 am local time.
To summarize briefly, the Galaxy Note 9 will be made of metal and glbad and will sport two cameras aligned horizontally, if we believe a set of renderings that have recently fled. As is traditionally the case with Samsung's flagship Android products, the Galaxy Note 9 will arrive in both Snapdragon and Exynos variants. The device is supposed to include at least 6GB of RAM and a curved QHD + Super AMOLED screen. It will be supposed to come with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed and be offered in five color variants at launch: black, gray, purple, blue and brown.
