The sinking has survived 41 days in the Pacific

Just three years ago, Balthazar Kormakur, the Icelandic, immersed his characters in the icy cold of Everest (2015, in a real-world film). The implacable director once again puts his characters on the verge of survival, alone against nature, in Drayf. A short, concrete and very beautiful film that shows the idyllic and fierce side of the sea, both sides of the same coin.

"Drayf", like Everest, tells a true story that happened in the Pacific in the 1980s last century. Of course, he was fictionalized – in the lead roles are Tiyenidos Shileen Udly ("Wine in our Stars") and Sam Claflin ("I Before You"). They will play a suitably comfortable beach novel before falling in the eye of the storm.

Charlotte Tammy is looking for adventure as soon as she leaves high school. She sails from a harbor in a harbor, accepts any job just by the sea and does not think about insurance and mortgages. The hero Richard is an heir apparent, builds a small yacht with his own hands. Their love begins suddenly, and it will end suddenly too, but at that moment there is an hour and a half. Both are on a solitary trip across the Pacific from Tahiti to California. There they face the fourth degree hurricane "Raymond" and teenage romance turns into a disaster for survival …

Such stories have been told to us repeatedly, most recently in " The Life of Pi "in 2012 and in" All Is Lost "with Robert Redford in 2013. The difference is that this time against the item will not be a man, but a 23-year-old girl. Shiley Woodley is an excellent actress, especially when she does not need to customize a flashy romance but to climb a mast, diving with harpoon attacks and storms. The installation constantly leaps from the present to the past – for every moment of happiness before the disaster lies a corresponding dramatic moment, the ropes and the tire.
