Sofia. Culture Minister Boil Banov announced that the status of the "Royal Stables" would become clear after August 15th. In 2016, it became clear that the property in the center of Sofia, which covers an area of ​​almost 7.5 acres, was sold for BGN 90 per m². m., the total price being 658 870,90 BGN excluding VAT. It was divided into three parts to reduce the sales value of each of them and thus avoid the obligation to sell state property for more than BGN 500 000 per decision of the Council of Ministers. The buyer of the place is "Evrotrans Building" EOOD Yanko Ivanov. The prosecutor's office accused Sofia district governor Veselin Penev, who resigned for the case. At present, the Sofia City Court has a criminal case related to the "King's stables", in which two people – former District Governor Veselin Penev and the approved evaluator Julia Dimitrova- Tsekova – are accused. Penev has been found guilty of several crimes – the conclusion of a case, with which he suffered more than 10 million leva, and deliberate lethargy, as a result of which also had adverse consequences for him. regional administration and for the Bulgarian State. In his statement, the director of Eurotransbuild EOOD Yanko Ivanov pointed out that the burned building of the "King's stables" is not their property. "Although the owner of the site is Eurotransbyl Ltd, every owner of a building on the ground has the right to build and, in the event of loss of the building, has the right to restore it to its original appearance and in its entirety without permission from the landowner, "he said, adding that the speculation that the building's combustion opens the doors to the subsequent construction of the land does not correspond to the factual situation.
Boil Banov explained that the royal stables are currently under the protection of the Cultural Heritage Act. The Commission will give the status of cultural value to the site. "And this status is in itself a state attitude towards cultural objects, it will not change borders and regimes – no improvement, no push, no possibility of change "said the minister and commented will become a site of national importance, with a high security regime.
