An NRA official was arrested when he received a bribe of 15,000 BGN after a successful action by GDBOP officials, reported Emilia Rusinova, head of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office.
The tax officer was captured when receiving the first installment of the amount he claimed.
Prosecutor Rusinova explained that NRA employees had been appointed by order to proceed with the review of a trading company. Subsequently, the staff in question had several meetings with the head of the company. At the first of these, they informed him that unrecognized profits of BGN 800,000 had been established for his company. Employees proposed to draft an act for only 16,000 to 20,000 leva. To this end, the company executive was required to provide them with BGN 45,000.
The manager himself sent the signal for the bribe asked. The NRA employee was captured upon receipt of the first 15,000 BGN, which was handed over to the center of the capital.
Emilia Rusinova said that the official had been detained for 72 hours and that his continued detention should be required, while the procedure proceeded with more suspects.
