Volvo Trucks' unmanned flatbed electric trucks began shipping marine containers in the port of Gothenburg, Sweden.
A video showing the performance of the vehicle is posted on YouTube.
The autonomous tug, called Vera, uses the Volvo FL and FE Electric electric forklift production units to work in logistics centers, factories and ports.
The joint venture between Volvo Trucks and the Danish transport company DFDS is still in test mode. Autonomous tugs have already taken pre-programmed routes with a maximum speed of 40 km / h. Vehicles on a network connected to the cloud service are controlled by an operator in the control tower.
