Bulletin: Note the Steelers’ Week 12 win over the Ravens

[ad_1]

The Pittsburgh Steelers squeaked past the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday in a game filled with errors. The Steelers have managed to improve to 11-0 this year, but if there had ever been a game they probably should have lost, this was it.

Let’s evaluate the team and highlight some individual performances. You might think my grades are perfect, you might also think I’m an idiot. Either way, express your opinions in the comments below.

Let’s do this …

Offense

Grade: D

This match was a difficult game of offense. The receivers didn’t appear to be catching, and the offensive line couldn’t create any lanes. By my count, the offense totaled 10 lost passes and left at least 16 points on the pitch. It wasn’t just a receiver either, they all took turns looking terrible. The problem was exacerbated in the red zone where the team continuously dropped the ball.

If there were any bright spots, it was that the offensive line once again prevented Ben Roethlisberger from being sacked once again. Roethlisberger also played a very good game himself apart from a brutal interception in the first quarter, the veteran hub himself had a solid game that would have looked better on the stats sheet if the receivers had actually hooked the ball.

Defense

Quality: A-

Look, the defense had a really good day. Sure, they got nicked on occasion in the running game, but the only points they gave up came after a smothered punt and a missed tackle on a 70-yard strike. They were as close to throwing a shutout as they could get. To top it off, Joe Haden returned an interception for a touchdown and TJ Watt took the NFL lead in the sacks.

It won’t affect the rating, but Losing Bud Dupree, probably for the year, is the worst part of this game. His impact will be missed. Now is the time for Alex Highsmith to step in.

Special teams

Grade: D

I don’t think there were any positives from the special teams units in Week 12. Ray Ray McCloud, choked a punt that brought the Ravens to life, Chris Boswell missed a another extra point, and the Steelers never pulled together anything in the second leg.

The two things that keep that rating from being an F are the Jordan Berry having a great day playing the ball, and the Ravens are not putting together any changing games in their own second leg.

Special teams almost cost the Steelers this game.

framing

Grade: C

It’s a brutal note to give. On the one hand, the Steelers struggled for the late games of this game. On the flip side, some of the worst games weren’t about coaches. Falls, sleeves and missed tackles are not on the coaches.

What gives me a problem is the inability of the teams to run plays under the center, but this was probably due to JC Hassanuer making his first career start and not having Maurkice Pouncey in the lineup. .

Coaches get a score that falls right in the middle. Hopefully they can prepare this team to join the Washington Football team.

Global

Grade: C

In my books you are lucky enough to win a game when you get a C and that is exactly what the Steelers are. They need to clean up the mistakes and quickly focus on Washington.

I think the Steelers suffered from rust and distraction in this game as well. The game played six days after its original date, with updates every hour. I predict Mike Tomlin will get his guys back on track when they face the 4-7 football team next week, but they only have four days to prepare for the contest.

On the bright side, the Steelers still haven’t played a perfect game, but hopefully they don’t go in that downward direction.

The Steelers will now prepare for their latest NFC East opponent, the Washington football team. A win locks the Steelers into a playoff berth, and a win coupled with a loss for the Browns gives the Steelers their first AFC North title since 2017. The football team will look to keep pace with the 4-7 Giants for the lead. of the division. A lot will be at stake on Monday night! Keep your eyes peeled for BTSC for the latest updates, breakdowns, and previews of the Steelers Week 13 game with the soccer team.
