The Chicago Bulls have become a very intriguing team to watch in the Eastern Conference. After years of struggling, Billy Donovan, Zach LaVine and the Bulls are back in the playoff race. Now the Bulls are mentioned in potential trade rumors and Bradley Beal is one name that has popped up.
Granted, the source of the suggestion is the Pippen Ain’t Easy website, and it’s certainly not a report of interest. However, it is mentioned that Beal could be a commercial target for the Bulls. And, there’s no question that the Bulls have the kind of young talent to pull anything off for Beal.
Beal would be an ideal candidate to play alongside LaVine. He would add shooting and scoring at the elite perimeter. These things would help relieve LaVine and keep the opposing defenses honest.
In order to do something with the Washington Wizards for Beal, the Bulls would likely have to come up with a deal with Wendell Carter Jr. or Lauri Markkanen. This should not deter the Bulls from continuing to trade. Beal is a talent that would be worth either or both of these guys.
So far this season with the Wizards in 28 games, Beal has averaged 32.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. He shot 48.1% from the ground overall and knocked down 33.3% of his three-point attempts.
These numbers show why the Bulls should strongly consider doing all they can for Bradley Beal. He would be the exact type of addition that would bring Chicago back to a serious playoff fight.
The only problem is the fact that the Wizards haven’t aggressively pursued the idea of trading Beal. Even if they do, almost every team in the NBA would do well to try and have it. While the Bulls have a lot of intriguing trading chips, they may not be enough.
Expect to continue to hear a ton of rumors surrounding Bradley Beal as the trade deadline approaches. The Bulls might not be a serious contender to acquire it, but they should definitely give it a try.
