Bungie is reworking some of the older Exotics with Season of the Chosen.

According to the developer, the team plans to “shake up” the Aeon sequel to Exotics in Destiny 2.

For starters, Aeon Cult Exotic armor pieces will have their own unique socket and mods. These will be unlocked as soon as you acquire the Exotic, and each is linked to one of the different Aeon Cult roles.

The mods are identical in the Exotics for all three classes.

Each of these mods has one perk that will focus on the user and one on allies. The second benefit includes an “additional benefit” for anyone on the team who has not chosen the same role.

The three Aeon Cult mods and their associated mechanics are as follows:

Season 13, or Season of the Chosen as it’s been called, begins on February 9 with the weekly reset on all platforms and ends on May 11.

The story centers on the Cabal as Empress Caiatl seeks an alliance with humanity. But that doesn’t work and a war breaks out with the last town.

Season 13 also features Battlegrounds, it sees the return of two classic strikes, a new strike called Proving Grounds, new gear, over 25 weapons, as well as the Praefectus armor set and the Ticuu Divination exotic bow.
