On Friday, the Giants placed receiver Buster Posey on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Tuesday) with a contusion to his left thumb. Right-hander Logan Webb returned from his rehab mission and was reinstated from the 10-day IL.
Posey hasn’t played since injuring his thumb on a point foul while behind the plate in Sunday’s win over the D-backs in Arizona. He was voted the National League’s starting wide receiver for Tuesday’s All-Star game at Coors Field.
