Update: The first PS5 control window of the day brought the Walmart site to its knees, and left many buyers frustrated. Next window is 3 p.m. ET / noon PT. The original story is below.
If you waited for the Playstation 5 for about a year, today belongs to you Black friday and the all-in-one Boxing Day celebration – Thursday, November 12, PS5 is officially available in the United States. Sony is making both versions of the console available simultaneously: a digital version for $ 400 and a model for $ 500 with Blu-ray. (As we said before, if you don’t need the optical drive for games or movies, we recommend go with the $ 400.)
To be clear, we expect every major retailer to sell out fast. We would be surprised if the national PS5 stock survives the day. But unlike other stores, Walmart has already promised (in a tweet to a customer) to make its inventory available in segments throughout the day.
The bottom line? Now you know when to open your browser and prepare to click:

Sony
This is the cheapest digital edition, featuring an 825GB SSD but without an optical drive. If you have a good broadband connection, you are better off spending your money here.
And Ackerman / CNET
The cream of the crop PlayStation, this console includes an 825 GB SSD and a Blu-ray optical drive.
