If you waited for the PS5 For about a year, today is your own celebration of Black Friday and Boxing Day in one: Thursday, November 12, the PS5 is officially available in the US. Sony is making both versions of the console available simultaneously: a digital version for $ 400 and a model for $ 500 with Blu-ray. (As we’ve already recommended, if you don’t need the optical drive for games or movies, we recommend going with the $ 400 drive.)

To be clear, we expect every major retailer to sell out fast. We would be surprised if the national PS5 stock survives the day. But unlike other stores, Walmart has already promised (in a tweet to a customer) to make its inventory available in segments throughout the day.

The bottom line? Now you know when to open your browser and prepare to click:

To facilitate quick access to the product page, here are the two versions of the PS5:

This is the cheapest digital edition, featuring an 825GB SSD but without an optical drive. If you have a good broadband connection, you are better off spending your money here.

And Ackerman / CNET

The cream of the crop PlayStation, this console includes an 825 GB SSD and a Blu-ray optical drive.
