BYU improved to 16-5 overall and 7-3 in WCC with a resounding victory over Pacific.

Here are three takeaways from the Cougars’ victory.

  • After a two-way start with both teams exchanging baskets, BYU pulled out for good with about eight minutes left in the first half. Up just one point after a 3-point Jordan Bell, the Cougars closed the half on an 18-7 run to climb 38-26 at the break. BYU kept the pressure on in the second half, edging the Tigers 42-26.
  • Caleb Lohner led the Cougars in scoring with 19 points and nine rebounds. He was 6 of 8 on the field, including a 5 of 6 of 6 at 3 points. His 19 points put his BYU career at the top.
  • Four BYU players scored in double digits on a well-rounded offensive night for the Cougars. Lohner led the team with 19, while Alex Barcello and Trevin Knell each scored 15 and Brandon Averette added 10.
