Texas coach Tom Herman faced a bad situation Monday, as the Longhorns announced a string of injuries that wiped out almost all high school.

Herman had a long list of injuries after his 36-30 win over Oklahoma State on Saturday. Each player mentioned was examined again on Sunday with a series of MRIs. The results were brutal.

Safety Caden Sterns will be absent for four weeks with a knee ligament sprain. He made 12 tackles against the Cowboys, a top in his squad, but fell awkwardly on a pass deflection just past the Texas bench.

Cornerback Jalen Green, who started the entire season, will be out for four weeks with a dislocated shoulder. He was wounded on the ground to face OSU's Chuba Hubbard attacking midfielder.

Cornerback Josh Thompson, a reserve that was gaining more play time, will miss an indefinite time with a broken bone in his foot.

In addition, linebacker Marcus Tillman suffered a third degree sprain in the medial collateral ligament at the kickoff. He will miss the rest of the season.

During the Big 12 conference call, Herman was hoping that back defenders B.J. Foster (hamstring) and DeMarvion Overshown (back) could be released for the West Virginia match on October 5th.

# 11 Texas (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) is off this week.
