Cadillac has unveiled the Lyriq electric crossover infotainment system as automakers put more emphasis on user experience to help compete with Tesla.
Last year, GM unveiled the Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV, the first electric vehicle using GM’s Ultium platform.
It hit many targets to make the electric vehicle community happy: exceptional design, range of 300 miles, fast charging of 150 kW, etc. The main concern was the price, which GM had not announced at the time.
Steve Carlisle, president of General Motors North America, has confirmed that the Cadillac Lyriq will start at less than $ 60,000.
GM plans to market the Cadillac Lyriq in 2022.

At CES, Cadillac plans to unveil a new user experience in its vehicles.
Bill Thompson, senior director of user interface design at GM, commented:
When designing Cadillac’s user interface, we started with a vision, but recognized that we were going to need a new perspective and new ways of thinking to make it happen. This is where Rightpoint and Territory Studio came into the picture. Both teams are incredibly talented and brought a new perspective that allowed us to design a personalized and elegant user-centric experience.
The new user interface will arrive at the Cadillac Lyriq on a massive 33 inch diagonal advanced LED display.

Earlier today, we reported that Mercedes-Benz unveiled a huge “hyperscreen” inside the EQS electric sedan.
Now Cadillac is also unveiling a user experience built around a large touchscreen.
I’ve been saying for a while that Tesla’s user interface is second to none in the automotive industry.
A lot of automakers rely on Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but I think they need to focus on their native system.
I’m happy to see Mercedes-Benz and Cadillac putting some effort into it – although we’ll be testing them to see how far they’ve come.
