CAL FIRE SLO sends the striking team to Southern California

NIPOMO, Calif. – A CAL FIRE strike team, San Luis Obispo, has traveled to Southern California to witness a fire that broke out Wednesday.

Firefighters gathered at the Nipomo Police Station on Wednesday before heading to a staging area in Corona.

The crew was waiting for a possible assignment to the Tenaja fire near Murrieta.

This fire burned 250 acres and had no containment as of Wednesday night.

The Tenaja fire also threatened structures close to the community of La Cresta.

According to CAL FIRE, there will still be seven wild locomotives in San Luis Obispo County, while firefighters will be deployed outside the area.

Stations throughout the region will also feature a full staff.
