A Californian will face federal charges related to a massive drug overdose in the southern district of Pittsburgh over the weekend, which allegedly killed three people and hospitalized four more after police linked him. orange paper bracelets worn by each victim.
Peter Rene Sanchez Montalvo, aka Carlos, was arrested without incident at a home in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, the US District Attorney's Office announced Monday in a press release. He was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death and grievous bodily harm.

According to the statement, a first investigation by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office found white powdered fentanyl.
Investigators connected Montalvo to the Discotec Insomnia at Brookline on Saturday night – a place that offered customers orange bracelets like those of the victims, the Pittsburgh Public Safety Ministry announced on Monday.
Montalvo left Insomnia and went to an apartment where he was staying for what the police termed "post-game evening". Several other people from the club joined him and ingested a white powdery substance, the police said.
Five victims were found in the apartment early Sunday. Two victims were found dead inside the apartment and another dead in front of an elevator. Another was discovered at an intersection outside the building.
The four surviving victims were in serious or critical condition when they were transported to Mercy Hospital, police said. Three of the victims have since been restored to a stable state and another remained critical on Monday, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

The police had previously indicated that the incident seemed isolated and that it was not a large scale, distributed drug. People who have attended events where orange bracelets have been donated do not have to worry, the police said.
Montalvo could face a life sentence and a fine of one million dollars.
