This year's Call of Duty game would be a gentle reboot of the Modern Warfare series. It will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The news comes from a user of Twitter and YouTuber LongSensation, who simply tweeted the name with the addition of "I'm not kidding".

Since then, Jason Schreier of Kotaku tweeted to confirm the name, and Eurogamer issued a report claiming he had his own sources that validate the name.

It is important to note that Call of Duty: Modern War is not the same as the original version of 2007, Modern Warfare, which is fully titled Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This will be the fourth Modern Warfare game, however, in case you want to lose yourself.

A follow-up tweet from Schreier says the game is a "soft reboot" of the series. We will probably understand what this means in the near future, as Activision has stated that the new call of duty will be revealed before the end of June.
