Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War patch notes revealed for November 24

Developer Treyarch has rolled out another update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S / Series X. In addition to adding an 80s-inspired Nuketown map , the address of the fix various bugs and gameplay stability issues.

Headlining feature is the addition of Nuketown ’84, an updated version of the classic Nuketown map flavored with an 80s trait. Nuketown ’84 was included in the Quick Play Core rotation list and Hardcore, as well as Custom Games, the 24/7 Features Playlist and Onslaught on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Treyarch has also activated the Double XP event until November 30 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.

The update also fixes stability issues in multiplayer and zombies, fixes hit detection issues in zombies, fixes knife camouflage issues in multiplayer, and more.

This patch comes a day after Treyarch released a separate update that made some gameplay changes. This includes reducing spawns in Hardpoint and fixing issues with field upgrade loads in free distributed zombies, as well as stabilizing the game. Check out the full patch notes below.

Global

  • 2XP + 2WXP:
    • Double XP and Double Weapon XP enabled in Multiplayer and Zombies until 10:00 a.m. PT on Monday, November 30.

Multiplayer

  • Plans:
    • Nuketown ’84
      • Added rotation of Nuketown ’84 to 6v6 maps in Quick Play Core and Hardcore playlists.
      • Added Nuketown 24/7 Featured Playlist.
      • Added Nuketown ’84 to the Custom Game Map List.
    • Strike at the crossroads:
      • Addressed an issue in Crossroads Strike that allowed players to challenge a Hardpoint and Control area outside of the intended objective limit.
  • Camos
    • Fixed an issue where the Diamond & Gold weapon camouflage rewards displayed incorrect images in the After Action Report.
    • Fixed an issue where Knife camos would not progress if they were in the primary weapon slot.
  • Stability
    • Fixed a rare crash that could occur in Domination.

Zombies

  • Gameplay
    • Addressed an issue that could prevent zombies from attacking the player after teleporting from Dark Aether.
    • Addressed an issue that allowed players to leave the play area when teleporting from the Dark Aether.
    • Addressed an issue that could cause a main quest item to expire, causing progress to be interrupted.
  • Gunsmith
    • Fixed an issue that could sometimes cause the player to lose functionality in the pause menu if the Gunsmith was left open after the intro cutscene.
  • Testing
    • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause incorrect Pack-a-Punch camouflage to appear on weapons obtained during Trials.
  • UI
    • Addresses an issue that sometimes caused the wrong Revive UI to appear at the end of a match.
  • Stability
    • Added various stability fixes.
  • Assault (PS4 / PS5)
    • Added Nuketown ’84 to the list of Onslaught maps.
    • Added a new Assault Challenge with a unique weapon blueprint reward.
