The initial beta release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the PS4 ends today, September 16, but another test is imminent: it will include the Xbox One and the PC in addition to the PS4. According to a developer update, advance access to Xbox One and the PC will begin Sept. 19 at 10:00 (Pacific Time). This period will offer an open beta on PS4. Players on all three platforms will have access on September 20 at 6:00 pm Eastern Time. Among the content you can expect to find in this test, you will find the new Ground War mode, with 32v32 matches on the new Karst River Quarry map.
Call of Duty: The beta version of Modern Warfare has officially started its deployment. Like the recent alpha test that focuses on the 2v2 mode, this beta is only available on PS4 – although Xbox One and PC players will also be able to try the game themselves soon. After the recent PSN preloading, beta servers are now online and you can start playing right now, provided you have pre-ordered Modern Warfare. The first beta will run Sept. 12-13 on PS4, but will be extended to an open beta version open to everyone on PS4 from September 14th to 16th. This is thanks to the exclusive agreement between Activision and Sony, which allows PS4 players to take a step ahead with the multiplayer beta
Then, from September 19, all players pre-order on Xbox One and PC can start playing, in addition to everyone (no pre-order required) on PS4. And from September 21, the beta version of Modern Warfare will be available to everyone, whether on PS4, Xbox One or PC.
Importantly, this second beta test period from September 19 to 23 includes cross-media support. Curiously, Modern Warfare cross-media support unites players from the PS4, Xbox One and PC, becoming one of the few games to support this level of cross-play.
Similar to the bets from previous Call of Duty games, it is unlikely that any progress will be reported on the launch of the full game in October.
