Call of Duty: The DLC Modern Warfare will be the first on PS4

As was the case in recent years, the post-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare content will be launched on PS4 before switching to other systems. This has been confirmed in a trailer of the game published on the PlayStation YouTube account.

The message reads: "Start by playing new content on PlayStation 4." The fine print then states that the exclusivity period is one week. "The new readable content, when it will be available, will be launched on PS4 seven days before being launched on other platforms."

This is not surprising, since Activision has partnered with Sony for exclusive Call of Duty deals every year since 2015 with Black Ops III. Previously, Activision had an agreement with Microsoft to launch Call of Duty DLC on Xbox platforms.

What is different with the new Modern Warfare is that all post-publication cards will be free, whereas in the past, Activision billed them. Another novelty for Modern Warfare: cross-play compatibility between PS4, Xbox One and PC. It remains to be seen how cross play could be affected when PS4 players have access to content different from that of Xbox One and PC players. We followed with Activision to try to get more details.

Modern Warfare – which is a reboot of the popular sub-brand that began in 2007 – is launched on October 25th. GameSpot recently visited developer Infinity Ward's studio to learn more about the game; Check out the story below for more information.
