FLOWY BRANCH, Ga – Wide receiver Calvin Ridley will not travel to London for the next game against the New York Jets due to a personal matter, the Falcons announced Thursday.

The Falcons released the following statement regarding Ridley after Thursday’s practice:

“For personal reasons, Calvin Ridley will not be attending the Falcons game in London this weekend. We support Calvin during this time and will respect his privacy in this regard.

“In addition, Russell Gage and Marlon Davidson will also not be traveling to London due to their respective ankle injuries.”

The Falcons must continue without their star receiver and find a way to keep the passing game going. Kyle Pitts will remain a primary target and is someone who can line up in the lunge and come out wide. Hayden Hurst is another versatile chess piece that could see increased involvement in a scenario where the team play without Ridley and Russell Gage, who won’t make the trip to the UK.

Olamide Zacchéaus was already a major player with Gage absent. Tajae Sharpe is reportedly in line to take the pictures of Ridley, with Christian Blake and Frank Darby in reserve. The Falcons could also lift Juwan Green, Austin Trammel or Keelan Doss off the practice squad for one game or activate them more permanently.
