Cam Newton speaks after a video of an exchange with a young football player who talks about trash made the rounds on social media.
The youngster – who apparently attended a camp that Newton was helping with, or played in a tournament where Newton was on the sidelines – started talking about trash to the NFL quarterback and former league MVP.
The youngster even noted how Newton was a free agent and used a curse when confronting Newton’s ability.
Newton kept his songwriter and even played him with a joke or two, but kept responding. You can watch the video of the meeting here.
Newton then posted a response to Instagram on Sunday afternoon. In his post, a video was shown of the young player speaking with Newton and noting that there was “no disrespect” from the two people involved.
“… I see there is a lot of stuff going around there that I see taking place over the weekend,” Newton wrote in his cryptic font. “With the natural eye, you see me asking the young man ‘Where is your father?’ but for me talking to a kid with everyone looking does me no good !! So instead of talking or coming and going with a kid, I wanted to have a man-to-man conversation with his dad.
“People often forget that the athletes who are often seen on television, loved by the most hated of some, people often forget that we are real dads, real friends, real brothers, real sons, real beings humans, etc. !! That being said, when I attend tournaments across the country with my all-star team, I have given my time, energy and expertise to these young people who have been in our program for over 11 years and whatnot. is not what people want. hear or even want to see …
“People want to see me arguing with another young man and seeing me come into my feelings… but the truth is, I have a positive impact on children’s lives. Make no mistake, I let kids see that they are “OUT” using their footballing skills to take them to the next level and in most cases… OUT OF THE HOOD !! Newton, as you may remember, is a free agent this offseason having played the 2020 season with the New England Patriots.
