Note: Circles represent goods on which countries have imposed tariffs; their sizes are based on the monetary value of imports of these products in 2017. Some products for which countries have imposed tariffs have not been imported into these countries in 2017 and are therefore not indicated. In cases where countries liberalized product categories, all imports of products in these categories were included. The value of Chinese imports is based on US exports to China in 2017, as China has not published its full list of imports for 2017 at the time of publication. With the exception of China, the value of each country's imports is based on its published statistics of 2017. For the United States, the value includes imports from China, European Union, Canada, Mexico, Japan and South Korea.
Sources: Data on products from government releases; import and export data from the IHS Markit World Trade Atlas. Specific solar products, washing machines, steel and aluminum products subject to tariffs by the United States are based on a Markit IHS badysis as well as on government publications.
