This is official. Amazon is settling in the capital.

After weeks of speculation, the construction company hired by Amazon to build a giant distribution center in the east issued a statement Tuesday morning confirming that he was hired to build a Mbadive Industrial Facility At this new announcement, Broccolini will continue to deliver outstanding projects here in the National Capital Region, and we hope to inaugurate the new Ottawa Application Processing Center later this summer. According to Broccolini's release, it will be the largest industrial facility ever built in the National Capital Region – over 1 million square feet – and is expected to create over 600 new full-time jobs once operating.

The installation, near the interchange of Boundary Road and Highway 417, is expected to open in 2019.

The location would see hundreds of trucks move thousands of packets containing Amazon orders, all aviator sunglbades with zebra costumes, packaged and shipped daily.

Amazon already has seven distribution centers in Canada employing more than 3,500 full-time employees
