HALIFAX, N.S. – Baseball Nova Scotia was recognized by Baseball Canada during the organization’s annual awards ceremony in Ottawa, Ont., last week.
Nova Scotia’s season was highlighted by a bronze medal at the Baseball Canada Cup – their first result at the event since 1995 – while the province’s under-16 girls team captured a silver medal in August.
Nova Scotia also finished first in the categories of program delivery, governance and umpire development.
At the Baseball Canada women’s national team banquet last week, Holly LaPierre of Hammonds Plains was honoured with the first-ever female baseball builder award.
