Emily Taylor, market badyst at IDC Canada, says that these short-term price wars are part of a long time. battle for market share among the country's leading Internet service providers, including Bell, Rogers, Videotron, Telus and Shaw.
Taylor claims that the Canadian adoption of the high-speed home Internet has been relatively slow, in part because in some places, consumers are definitely choosing services faster than there is a few years.
She says that special promotions are a way for carriers to show what the fastest networks can do with the hope that consumers will consider them as an essential service in the future.
