Canada Post's rotating strikes hit western Newfoundland | Local | New

Canada Post unionized workers are on strike in western Newfoundland.

The workers represented by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers left their jobs for picket lines in Corner Brook, Humber Arm South, Stephenville, Deer Lake, Port aux Basques and St. Anthony.

They are also found in the Exploits Valley, Gander-Lewisporte and Carbonear regions.

Workers are on strike for more pay equity and job security, but they also want health and safety issues and excessive burdens to be resolved by their employer at the bargaining table.

The strikers also urge members of the general public to respect their picket lines.
