High concentrations of mosquitoes this summer continue to spur adult populations – including many The York County WNV Program and Pennsylvania Department of Environment Protection staff will spray low-level insecticides into areas at risk, much lower than what would be used in commercial pest control products inside the house.

The Township of Springettsbury was canceled due to weather conditions and will follow its rain date on Tuesday, July 24th.

Targeted areas in the Township include residential areas along Eastern Boulevard from Haines Road to Stone Ridge Road. According to a press release, the residential area to the east of North Hills Road, west of Memory Lane, north of East Market Street and south of Industrial Highway

On Wednesday, July 25, spraying will occur in York City, in the following areas, according to a press release:

  • The area south of West Market Street , west of South George Street, east of Richland Avenue and north of West Springettsbury Avenue.

  • The area east of North and South Queen Streets, west of North and South Harrison Streets, north of East College Avenue and Prospect Street (Route 124 ) to the northern limit of York City.

  • The area east of South George Street, west of Vander Avenue and Edgar Street, north of Rathton Road and south of. East College Ave.

  • The area east of Roosevelt Avenue, west of Pennsylvania Avenue, north of Parkway Boulevard and south of Loucks Road (Route 30).

Since spraying depends on weather conditions, a rain falls on Thursday, July 26th. together for York City.
