MONTRÉAL – Patients' rights group seeks leave to institute clbad action against long-term care facilities in Quebec for alleged ill-treatment of patients

Council for the protection of Malades alleges 2015 has led to a deterioration of the level of care and services provided to patients in the institutions.

He estimates that thousands of 37,000 people residing in these institutions have suffered abuse and unworthy conditions.

Paul, Brunet Council spokesman said that those who live in homes deserve better.

The action targets about two dozen long-term care facilities across the province.

Principal Applicant Daniel Pilote, a four-year resident in one of the health centers, said he was abused and wants to use the courts to improve conditions and get justice for himself and for others.
