The next update of Google Wear Wear OS does even more to extend the life of the battery

A major update to the Google mobile Android platform has just arrived and we are now hearing about the next version of Wear OS. Google announced today that the "System Version: H" would include a whole series of updates when it launches in the "coming months".

Battery Saver Mode Updates:
This update further extends the life of your battery by activating Battery Saver to display only the time when your battery falls below 10%.

Efficacy out of the body improved:
After 30 minutes of inactivity, your watch will go into deep sleep mode to save battery power.

Smart App Resume for all applications:
You can now easily find where you were in all applications of your watch.

Two steps of power off:
You can now turn off your watch in two easy steps. To turn off your watch, simply hold down the power button until the power off screen appears, then select "Power off" or "Restart".

All of these sounds sound good and could be interesting enhancements for the battery life if they are available to older Snapdragon 2100 hardware-based watch users, as opposed to the new 3100 series. Smart App Resume should facilitate access to applications, while the effectiveness outside the body should lessen the anxiety of whether or not you left your device on a charger or just on the shelf.

The only problem at the moment is that Google did not specify which devices would receive this update and the words "Your device may not be immediately eligible for this update and will be determined by your watch manufacturer "do not inspire confidence. Fossil ad that all his touchscreen watches will get it, but we have not heard of other manufacturers yet. Almost all existing devices have the last one, and we hope it will stay consistent, but with a new naming scheme and a note saying that "functionality may vary by device", we will have to wait and see.
