It seems like a lot of people are taking advantage of bulk pickup in Windsor.

The data shows that calls to the special curbside service at 311 were strong for the second consecutive quarter.

"We received 484 applications in the second quarter and 516 this quarter," said Jim Leether, director of waste collection and operations contracts. "These numbers show that the program is popular and useful for residents who would otherwise have difficulty getting rid of these items."

The highest number of calls in the third quarter was for tree maintenance (2,368). Dirty yard complaints were second with 1,920.

In 2017, 291 bulk service requests were received.

As part of the program, each city collection area provides for two cycles of bulk material collection per month.

There is a maximum of two items per collection and the cost of the service is $ 10 per item.

To book an appointment, call 311 from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, except holidays, and staff 311 will inform you of available dates.
