Round 1: Canelo pretends and Yildirim tries to hit with a blow. Canelo’s left hook hits the body. Canelo tries another hook that Yildirim partially blocks, then Canelo targets the body again with his right hand. The hard left hook lands for Canelo, the referee says he’s lost his way. Canelo jumps two shots upstairs as Yildirim keeps a tight guard. Another left hook lands on the body for Canelo. Yildirim is badly missing on his own left hook to the body. The hard right hand lands down for Canelo, then a left hook to the head. Yildirim misses three hits. Yildirim stings on the body this time. Canelo doubles his left hand this time, then throws another right to the body moments later. Canelo 10-9.
2nd round: Jab of Yildirim is blocked. Canelo misses a shot upstairs. Uppercut lands clean for Canelo on the chin, supporting Yildirim. Another uppercut from Canelo’s scores. Now Canelo lands a stiff jab followed by a left hook to the body. Yildirim on the defensive early and still being retouched. Three punches come from Canelo as Yildirim covers himself. Canelo digs the body again with a left hook. Hard left to the body lands again for Canelo, then another. The right uppercut lands for Canelo this time. This was a targeted practice at the start of the fight. Yildirim throws a right hand on the body. Hard right lands right for Canelo, then a left hook upstairs. Canelo 10-9, 20-18.
3rd round: Yildirim’s face appears marked on the left side between the turns. Canelo probes with a few strokes, then tries a hook behind. Canelo’s right hook is blocked. Hard left to the body lands again for Canelo. Right hook scores for Canelo to the body, Yildirim gets his own body shot, BUT CANELO WAITS TWO HEADSHOTS AND MAKES YILDIRIM DOWN! Yildirim is standing but takes two hard hits to the liver. Yildirim on the ropes and take pictures of Canelo. Yildirim throws a counter-hook but shoots in the head. Yildirim is injured in the body by repeated injections of the liver. Canelo’s left hook lands upstairs. Yildirim tries a body hook but takes two in return from Canelo. Yildirim doesn’t look too robust at the moment. Canelo 10-8.
Round 4: Yildirim’s coach, Joel Diaz, is already threatening to end the fight if Yildirim doesn’t change things immediately. Wow, looks like the fight was stopped in the corner before the start of the fourth round. Canelo TKO-3.
