Resident Evil Revelations

Last year, Capcom suffered a leak revealing a game called Resident Evil Outbreak was slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2021.

As previously reported by a Capcom insider Twilight Golem, this title is apparently Resident Evil Revelations 3 (or at least was named at some point during development) and will be a “Switch-focused RE game” but not platform-exclusive.

The same insider has now confirmed previous claims – stating that the game will arrive “within the next year. [Resident Evil] Village’s release ”which will be released in May this year and will be part of Capcom’s big 25th anniversary celebrations for its long-running survival horror series.

“It doesn’t come from me, but for the record, Revelations 3 is released within a year of the Village release date, either late 2021 or early 2022.

“Releases as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations, with Village, will almost certainly be a timed exclusive on Switch. But that will be announced later this year, for now, Village deserves attention and will release in just a few months at present! “

Dusk Golem goes on to explain how the game runs “100%” on the RE engine used by Capcom Monster Hunter Rise and although this is a “timed exclusive”, it will be released “on everything” as an inter-generational game. It was also mentioned how Rebecca would always be the protagonist:

“I first heard of Rev 3 in 2017 that would feature Rebecca, and I’ve been updated a few times over the years, it’s still a Rebecca game. characters, but those lips are zipped for now. “

Dusk Golem already shed light on a new Monster Hunter game for Switch long before the official announcement – explaining how it would work on the RE engine.

The last entry in the Revelations line was Resident Evil Revelations 2 – an episodic version of the survival horror series, which originally launched in 2015 and appeared on Switch in 2017.
