Cardi B responded to the backlash on Sunday during her Thanksgiving celebrations where she appeared to host a large gathering amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the weekend, the 28-year-old rapper tweeted, “12 children and 25 adults during the holidays. He was on !! which sparked comments from followers as public health officials urged Americans to limit their Thanksgiving festivities to a small number of people as coronavirus cases continue to rise.
Cardi claimed that she wasn’t trying to offend anyone with her holiday celebration.
“Sorry, my hurt wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad. I just had my family in my house for the first time and it felt so good and raised me. I spent so much money on all the tests but it was worth it. didn’t try to offend # 1, ” she tweeted on Sunday afternoon.
Cardi, who previously posted photos Thursday of her Thanksgiving Day with her 2-year-old daughter, Kulture, also responded to a fan who addressed the COVID test.
“ME especially and everyone who works around me is literally tested 4 times a week. I’m in the middle of the job and every time we come we MUST BE TESTED! ” she posted.
She then sent another message to critics.
“People try too hard to be offended. I wonder how they survive the real world,” Cardi tweeted.
Earlier this month, Cardi filed for the dismissal of her divorce petition against husband Offset, who posted a video of the Thanksgiving festivities on Thursday.
