Cardi B makes his appearance on the field in scrum at the strip club

NEW YORK (AP) – The Cardi B appeared in court Friday in a case resulting from a fight in a New York strip club.

The Grammy-winning rapper – dressed in a pink pantsuit and long shimmering pink nails – looked bleak and did not speak during the hearing.

Cardi B faces criminal offenses and assault charges for melee crime at a Queens striptease club last fall.

The police said that the rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, and her entourage were at the club when she had a fight with a bartender. They say that a fight broke out in which chairs, bottles and hookah pipes were thrown, slightly injuring the woman and another employee.

Her lawyer stated that she had not hurt anyone.

Prosecutors said Friday that they would present the case to a grand jury.

The district attorney's office asked to be back in court on June 3, but Cardi B's lawyer stated that she was not available at that time. The next hearing was set for 9 August.

The conditions of her parole were maintained, including a complainants' protection order.

Fans followed Cardi B outside the courtroom on Friday, trying to take pictures. She kissed a woman who seemed to be an acquaintance but did not speak to anyone.
