Cardi B, charged with several counts of assault and reckless endangerment in connection with a brawl at a Queens striptease club, last summer, appeared in court New York Friday and rejected a plea agreement that would have prevented him from staying in jail.

The Queens District Attorney's Office stated that the rapper, who had won Grammy and a platinum sale, had rejected an agreement that would have allowed him to plead guilty to a charge of misdemeanor and to be released under certain conditions instead of serving his sentence in prison.

The reason she rejected the contract was unclear. His attorney, Jeff Kerns, has not responded to calls from the US TODAY & # 39; HUI.

His next hearing date is May 31st.

She posted a picture of herself on Instagram in her court attire with a white tunic and palazzo pants with white sandals.

Belcalis Almanzar (his real name), 26, was Arrested and charged last October with several counts of misdemeanor felony arising out of an early morning melee at the Angels Gentlemen 's Club in Queens in August. Police said she was at the origin of the conflict and that members of her entourage have carried out it.

The police report says that a fight broke out during which chairs, bottles and hookah pipes were thrown, injuring two women, including the bartender.

Her rejection of the plea agreement means that the initial charges against her remain. In addition, she was ordered not to have any contact with the two injured employees, including with comments on social networks.

If found guilty, she could be sentenced to one year in prison.
